Stove
Exhibit
at the Langham Cultural Center
Kaslo B.C. Canada
December 5,
2003
The
Langham Cultural Center presents a very
special show for the month of December
entitled: A Century of Stoves.
This exhibit
chronicles the evolution of form and style in
North American heating and cooking stoves from
the 1850's to the 1950's - essentially from
black to white!
A dozen
antique stoves represent these ten decades.
Also included in the show are antique toy
stoves, memorabilia, trade illustrations,
vintage photographs, and a special display
featuring the Kootenay Range. The show opened
on Thursday, November 27th to an enthusiastic
crowd of over sixty people.
The volunteer
attendants report an excellent response over
the first weekend.
This show runs
through Sunday, December 28th and is a must
see for anyone interested in antique
appliances, cast iron, and Victorian
furnishings.
